If you are looking for Epic Games free games in 2026, the Epic Games Store continues to offer rotating giveaways alongside its permanent free-to-play catalog. The important distinction is that a weekly giveaway is usually available for a limited claiming period, while free-to-play games remain available without needing a weekly claim.
Epic’s official system currently provides a new free giveaway every Thursday, with the weekly offer generally available for seven days. Once you successfully claim a giveaway, it remains in your Epic Games library permanently, even if you do not download it immediately.
Search Intent: What Are Players Really Looking For?
The main search intent behind epic games free games is informational with a strong practical intent: players want to know which games are free, when the next giveaway changes, and how to add a title to their library.
Readers commonly have these follow-up questions:
- How does the Epic Games weekly giveaway actually work?
- Do claimed games stay free forever?
- Can Epic Games free games be played on mobile?
- Do UK and USA players have the same access?
- What is the difference between a weekly giveaway and a free-to-play game?
This guide answers each of these questions while also covering account requirements, mobile limitations, regional availability and common mistakes when claiming games.
Epic Games Free Games List 2026: How the Giveaway Works
The Epic Games free games list 2026 is not a fixed annual list. Instead, it is a rolling schedule that changes as Epic replaces one giveaway with another.
Epic states that a new free game is made available every Thursday. The official support page says the weekly game becomes available at 8 AM PT and normally has seven days to be claimed before it rotates.
That means a page published several months ago can quickly become outdated. For the most accurate current giveaway, check the official Epic Games Store free-games page rather than relying only on an old article or social media post.

Weekly Giveaways vs Free-to-Play Games
These two categories are easy to confuse.
Weekly giveaways are normally paid games temporarily offered for $0.00. You must claim the promotion during its active period.
Free-to-play games are games that can be downloaded and played without purchasing the base game. Epic’s current store includes titles such as Fortnite, Rocket League, Genshin Impact, VALORANT, Fall Guys and other free-to-play releases.
The distinction matters because seeing a game marked “Free” does not necessarily mean it is part of the weekly giveaway.
How to Claim an Epic Games Free Game
Claiming a giveaway is straightforward, but there is one important account requirement.
- Open the official Epic Games Store and sign in to your Epic Games account.
- Go to the Free Games section.
- Select the currently available giveaway.
- Open its product page and choose the option to get or claim the game.
- Complete the checkout process at the displayed $0 price.
- Confirm that the game has been added to your library.
- Download and install it whenever you are ready.
Epic currently requires two-factor authentication for claiming some free games, and its support documentation specifically states that 2FA is required to claim free games.
This is one reason it is worth setting up 2FA before a giveaway expires rather than waiting until the final hours.
Do Epic Games Free Games Stay in Your Library Forever?
Yes. When you successfully claim an eligible Epic Games giveaway, the title remains in your library permanently. You do not have to download it before the seven-day promotion ends.
There is an important difference between claiming and playing:
- The promotion may end after seven days.
- A claimed game remains associated with your Epic account.
- You can install it later.
- You do not need to keep the game installed for it to remain in your library.
- A temporary free trial is different because access can end when the trial period finishes.
Epic’s FAQ explains that claiming a free game gives the account a digital license for that title.
What If the Game Is Missing Later?
If a previously claimed game does not appear in your library, check that you are signing into the same Epic account used to claim it.
Epic specifically warns that different login methods can sometimes lead users to separate accounts. For example, signing into an Epic account with a Gmail address and using the Google login option can result in different account identities. Console-linked accounts can also create confusion.
Epic Games Free Games Mobile: Android and iPhone
Mobile access is an increasingly important part of Epic’s store strategy, but availability depends on the device and region.
Epic currently states that the Epic Games Store is available worldwide on Android, while the store app is available on iPhone and iPad in the European Union and on iPhone in Japan and Brazil.
For Android users, Epic says the store can be installed on Android 8/SDK 26 or later, although individual games can have higher requirements.
For iPhone users, the situation is more restricted. The Epic Games Store marketplace is not currently available in the UK or USA as a general iOS marketplace. In those markets, availability of individual Epic games can follow different distribution arrangements.
This distinction is important when searching for Epic Games free games mobile because a game being free on the Epic Games Store does not automatically mean it can be installed through the same store on every phone.
UK, USA and Lebanon: What Players Should Know
For players in the UK and USA, PC and Mac access to the Epic Games Store is generally straightforward, while Android availability is worldwide subject to applicable restrictions.
The iPhone situation is different. Epic currently lists its iOS marketplace availability for the EU, Japan and Brazil rather than the UK or USA.
For readers in Lebanon, Epic’s general store availability is not listed among the restricted markets, although payment methods, currency display and individual game availability can vary by region. Epic says its store supports regional pricing across more than 190 countries and territories, with available currencies and payment methods determined by region.
Can You Trust an “Epic Games Free Games List Leaked”?
Searches for an Epic Games free games list leaked appear frequently, particularly before major seasonal promotions.
These lists should be treated as unconfirmed until the games actually appear through Epic’s official channels. Epic’s own support team states that Player Support does not receive advance information about upcoming weekly free games.
A leaked list can therefore be useful as gaming news or speculation, but it should not be presented as an official schedule unless Epic confirms it.
This is also a gap worth noting when comparing free-game coverage: a useful guide should separate confirmed giveaways, historical giveaways and rumors rather than combining them into one list.
What Makes the Epic Free Games Program Useful?
The biggest practical advantage is that players can build a digital library without buying every game they want to try.
The program can also expose players to genres they might otherwise overlook. A player primarily interested in action games might discover an indie puzzle title, strategy game or simulation game simply because it appeared in a weekly promotion.
However, “free” does not necessarily mean every related item is free. A game can have optional downloadable content, expansions, cosmetic purchases or other paid features.
The same applies to free-to-play games: the base game may cost nothing while optional purchases remain available.
Common Mistakes When Claiming Free Games
A few simple mistakes can cause players to miss a giveaway.
Waiting Until the Last Day
The biggest mistake is forgetting that weekly promotions rotate. If a game interests you, claim it during the promotion rather than assuming it will remain free.
Confusing Free-to-Play With a Giveaway
Fortnite or another permanently free-to-play title is not the same thing as a temporary weekly giveaway.
Using the Wrong Epic Account
If you cannot find a previously claimed game, check your login method and linked accounts before assuming the license disappeared.
Ignoring 2FA
Two-factor authentication is an account-security measure and is also required for claiming free games under Epic’s current rules.

Final Thoughts
The Epic Games free games program is best understood as a rolling weekly giveaway system rather than one permanent 2026 list. The practical rule is simple: check the official Free Games page around the weekly Thursday refresh, claim any title you want before the promotion expires, and make sure you are using the correct Epic account with 2FA enabled.
For PC and Mac players in the UK, USA and other supported markets, the process is straightforward. Mobile players need to check whether their device and region support the Epic Games Store itself, because Android and iPhone availability are not identical.
If you want to keep up with future giveaways, bookmark the official Epic Games Free Games page and check it after the weekly refresh rather than relying on unconfirmed leaked lists.
